Helping Us Help Them

The SCRAPS Hope Foundation relies on private donations to provide medical care, rehabilitation and re-homing to the thousands of homeless animals that come through our

doors each year.

Without the generous support from donors and area businesses, we could not maintain the level of successful outcomes we have.

Our thanks to the following donors who have helped us continue our mission.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      North Division

Happy Tails - Adoption Stories:

Manners Matter

The owners of a German shepherd mix that came to SCRAPS surrendered him for an unusual reason – he ate the siding off their house.  They lived next to a police shooting range and the dog wanted back in the house  any way he could.  When he arrived at the shelter his nervous disposition made him unadoptable.  He was transferred to Kootenai Humane Society who partners with a group that provides intense training for dogs with just this type of behavior.  The dog is doing great in training and will be placed up for adoption shortly.

Taffy is a wonderful black lab with a great personality and very intelligent.  Day after day, she was passed over for adoption because of a tumor on her back.  Potential adopters worried about the cost of the surgery and, what’s more, whether or not it was cancerous.   Our transport staff worked with Homeward Pet Rescue who took Taffy.  The tumor was removed (it was benign) and she quickly found a home
